Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels recap
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) follows four London friends who owe a porn king £500,000 after a rigged card game and plan to rob their neighbours. Written and directed by Guy Ritchie, this is his first feature. Card sharp Eddie (Nick Moran) loses the pooled stake of himself, Tom (Jason Flemyng), Soap (Dexter Fletcher) and Bacon (Jason Statham) to "Hatchet" Harry Lonsdale (P.H. Moriarty), who wants the bar owned by Eddie's father JD (Sting) and sends debt collector Big Chris (Vinnie Jones). Eddie overhears his neighbours, a crew led by Dog (Frank Harper), planning to rob a cannabis farm run by posh students, and the friends decide to ambush the robbers afterwards. Meanwhile two Scouse thieves steal a pair of antique shotguns for Harry and sell them to the fence Nick the Greek, who passes them to Tom. The stolen cannabis belongs to the gangster Rory Breaker (Vas Blackwood), and every party converges on Eddie's flat.
How Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels ends
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels ends with the friends broke but free and Tom about to drop a fortune into the Thames. A shootout in the flat kills Rory's and Dog's gangs, Harry and his enforcer Barry die in a shootout with the thieves, and Big Chris keeps the cash. The police release the four because the only witness identifies Dog's crew. Chris returns their empty bag, holding an auction catalogue that shows the shotguns are worth a fortune, and the last shot freezes on Tom leaning over Battersea Bridge with his phone ringing in his mouth. A spin-off series, Lock, Stock..., ran for seven episodes in 2000.

Snatch recap
Snatch (2000) crosses a hunt for a stolen 84-carat diamond with an unlicensed boxing promoter forced to fix a fight for a sadistic London gangster. Guy Ritchie's second feature reuses much of the Lock, Stock cast. Franky Four-Fingers (Benicio del Toro) robs an Antwerp jeweller and brings the stone to London for Cousin Avi (Dennis Farina), but the arms dealer Boris the Blade (Rade Šerbedžija) has three small-time crooks rob a bookmaker to grab Franky. Promoter Turkish (Jason Statham) and his partner Tommy (Stephen Graham) lose their boxer when the Irish Traveller Mickey O'Neil (Brad Pitt) knocks him out over a caravan deal, so they put Mickey in the ring for Brick Top (Alan Ford), who demands he go down in the fourth round. Avi hires Bullet Tooth Tony (Vinnie Jones) to recover the stone, and Brick Top's men burn the caravan of Mickey's mother with her inside.
How Snatch ends
Snatch ends with the diamond inside a dog and Brick Top dead. Mickey refuses to stay down, wins the fight after betting on himself, and the Travellers kill Brick Top and his men in an ambush. Boris and Tony die in the scramble for the stone, Avi shoots Tony by accident while aiming at the dog that swallowed it, and he flies home in disgust. Turkish and Tommy end up with the dog, a vet retrieves the diamond, and Doug the Head calls Avi back to London to buy it. A television spin-off followed in 2017.

Swept Away recap
Swept Away (2002) strands a spoiled millionaire's wife and the Italian deckhand she torments on a deserted Mediterranean island, where their roles reverse. Guy Ritchie wrote and directed this remake of Lina Wertmüller's 1974 film, his third feature, starring his then wife Madonna. Amber Leighton (Madonna) joins her husband Tony (Bruce Greenwood) and two other couples on a private cruise from Greece to Italy and insults the deckhand Giuseppe Esposito (Adriano Giannini, son of the original's lead) at every turn. She insists on a dinghy trip despite his warning about a storm, the engine runs dry, and they wash up on an empty island. There Giuseppe's survival skills put him in charge, he begins to dominate her, and the two fall into a passionate relationship. When Amber spots a boat anchored offshore, she hides rather than be rescued.
How Swept Away ends
Swept Away ends with the lovers separated. They are rescued and returned to their old lives, and Giuseppe writes to Amber and waits for an answer that never comes, believing she has rejected him. The final reveal shows that Tony has intercepted the letters, making sure Amber never sees them or Giuseppe again. The remake flopped, earning about $1 million on a $10 million budget, and is often listed among the worst films ever made.

Revolver recap
Revolver (2005) follows Jake Green, a gambler out of seven years in solitary, who beats the casino boss who put him there and becomes a target. Guy Ritchie's fourth feature reunites him with Jason Statham. Jake (Statham) humiliates the crime boss Dorothy Macha (Ray Liotta) over a chip toss, and Macha orders him killed. After Jake collapses on the stairs, the loan sharks Zach (Vincent Pastore) and Avi (André Benjamin) save him from Macha's hitman Sorter (Mark Strong) and offer protection in exchange for all his money and total obedience, claiming he has a blood disease that will kill him in three days. Jake learned "the Formula", a method for winning any game or con, from two unseen prisoners in the neighbouring cells. Zach and Avi steer him through robberies of Macha's cocaine and of the Triad boss Lord John, while Macha fears the unseen kingpin Sam Gold.
How Revolver ends
Revolver ends with Jake beating his own ego rather than Macha. His terminal diagnosis proves wrong, and Zach and Avi turn out to be the two prisoners who taught him the Formula; they explain that Sam Gold only has the power people give him. Sorter turns on Macha's crew to save Jake's niece. Jake confronts the fear in his head inside a stuck elevator, then walks past Macha's gun and leaves him weeping. A recut version reached US cinemas in 2007.

Lenny's junkie rock-star stepson Johnny Quid (Toby Kebbell) fakes his death and steals the painting, which passes through crackheads and the Wild Bunch to Stella. Sherlock Holmes recap
Sherlock Holmes (2009) pits Arthur Conan Doyle's detective against Lord Blackwood, an occultist who seems to rise from the grave after his hanging. Guy Ritchie's sixth feature, and his first studio blockbuster, casts Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Dr. John Watson. In 1890 London they stop Lord Henry Blackwood (Mark Strong) mid-ritual; he is hanged, and Watson, about to marry Mary Morstan (Kelly Reilly), plans to move out of Baker Street. Then Blackwood's tomb is found broken open with another man's body inside. Holmes's old adversary Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams) returns on an errand for a mysterious professor, and the secret Temple of the Four Orders asks Holmes to stop Blackwood, revealed as the illegitimate son of its head. Blackwood's fellow members begin dying in ways that look supernatural, and his plan points to Parliament.
How Sherlock Holmes ends
Sherlock Holmes ends on the unfinished Tower Bridge, where Holmes explains that every one of Blackwood's miracles was a trick of chemistry and staging. Adler has already destroyed the cyanide device built to gas Parliament, and Blackwood dies hanging from a chain when the scaffolding gives way. Adler reveals that her employer is Professor Moriarty, who used the chaos to steal a radio control part from the device. Holmes reopens the case, which leads into A Game of Shadows.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows recap
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011) sends Holmes and Watson across Europe in 1891 to stop Professor Moriarty from provoking a war he has invested in. Guy Ritchie's seventh feature is the direct sequel to Sherlock Holmes (2009), with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law back as Holmes and Dr. John Watson. A string of bombings blamed on anarchists is pushing France and Germany toward war, and Holmes ties them to Professor James Moriarty (Jared Harris), who poisons Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams) early on. Moriarty's men attack Watson and his bride Mary on their honeymoon train, and Holmes throws Mary into a river where his brother Mycroft (Stephen Fry) collects her. With the fortune-teller Simza Heron (Noomi Rapace), whose brother René works for Moriarty, they track a bomb in Paris, an arms factory in Germany and finally a peace summit in Switzerland, while the marksman Sebastian Moran keeps them in his sights.
How Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows ends

Knowing his injured shoulder will lose the fight, Holmes pulls Moriarty over the balcony and both vanish into the falls, as in Doyle's "The Final Problem". After the funeral, Watson receives Mycroft's oxygen device and steps out, and the hidden Holmes adds a question mark after "The End" in Watson's manuscript.

Aladdin recap
Aladdin (2019) remakes Disney's 1992 cartoon in live action: a street thief finds a lamp holding a Genie and poses as a prince to court Princess Jasmine. Guy Ritchie directed and co-wrote with John August, his tenth feature and his first musical. Aladdin (Mena Massoud) and his monkey Abu meet Jasmine (Naomi Scott), who wants to succeed her father the Sultan rather than marry a suitor. The vizier Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) sends Aladdin into the Cave of Wonders for the lamp and then betrays him, but Abu keeps it. The Genie (Will Smith) turns Aladdin into "Prince Ali of Ababwa", and Aladdin promises his third wish will free him, while the Genie falls for Jasmine's handmaiden Dalia (Nasim Pedrad). Jafar learns Aladdin's secret, throws him into the sea, and later steals the lamp.
How Aladdin ends
Aladdin ends with Jafar tricked into wishing to become the most powerful being in the universe, which turns him into a genie trapped in his own lamp. Aladdin uses his last wish to free the Genie as promised, the Sultan names Jasmine his successor, and she marries Aladdin. The remake adds Jasmine's new song "Speechless" and her claim to the throne, both absent from the 1992 film.

Wrath of Man (2021) follows a quiet new guard at a Los Angeles cash-truck company who turns out to be a crime boss hunting the robbers who killed his son. Guy Ritchie's twelfth feature, loosely based on the French film Cash Truck (2004), is his fourth with Jason Statham. Patrick Hill (Statham), nicknamed H, barely passes his firearms test at Fortico, then kills a whole robbery crew single-handed when his trainer Bullet (Holt McCallany) is taken hostage. The story jumps back to show that H is really Mason Hargreaves, whose son Dougie died in a Fortico robbery that H was secretly scouting for his own crew. A third chapter shows the robbers: Afghanistan veterans led by Jackson (Jeffrey Donovan), including the volatile Jan (Scott Eastwood).

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare recap
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024) dramatises Operation Postmaster, a covert 1942 British raid on Axis supply ships in a neutral African port. Guy Ritchie directed and co-wrote this fifteenth feature from Damien Lewis's book Churchill's Secret Warriors, fictionalising events heavily. Brigadier Colin Gubbins (Cary Elwes) sends Gus March-Phillipps (Henry Cavill) to sink the Italian ship Duchessa d'Aosta on Spanish Fernando Po, the supply line for U-boats in the Atlantic. Gus sails with Anders Lassen (Alan Ritchson), Freddy Alvarez (Henry Golding) and Henry Hayes (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), first freeing Geoffrey Appleyard (Alex Pettyfer) from the Germans. Ashore, the agents Marjorie Stewart (Eiza González) and Richard Heron (Babs Olusanmokun) work the island, with Marjorie charming the SS commander Heinrich Luhr (Til Schweiger). When the ship moves its departure forward, the team crosses a British blockade without permission.
How The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare ends

They deliver the ships to the Royal Navy off Lagos and are arrested, then saved when Churchill takes them into his "Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare". A closing montage sketches their real later lives and notes that Ian Fleming, who sits in Gubbins's office, drew on the operation for James Bond.

The Gentlemen recap
The Gentlemen (2024) is a Netflix crime comedy series in which an army officer inherits his father's dukedom and the cannabis empire hidden under the estate. Guy Ritchie created the spin-off from his 2019 film, set in the same world with new characters. Season 1, eight episodes released in March 2024, follows Eddie Horniman (Theo James), a former UN peacekeeper who becomes Duke of Halstead over his elder brother Freddy (Daniel Ings), a cocaine-addled liability in debt to Liverpool gangsters. Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario), running the business for her imprisoned father Bobby (Ray Winstone), needs the farm under Halstead Manor to stay put, and Eddie, trying to shield his family, slips deeper into the criminal world instead of getting out. His mother Sabrina (Joely Richardson) and sister Charly also get pulled in, while the American investor Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito) works to weaken the Glass empire and buy it. Season 2, eight more episodes released in September 2026, takes the business into Italy through the Moretti crime family and has Eddie, now in the House of Lords, push to legalise cannabis against Bobby's wishes. Bobby has him beaten and left in a shallow grave, and Eddie's marriage to the countess Bella ends when her seaplane explodes on their honeymoon.
How The Gentlemen ends
The Gentlemen's first season ends with "The Gospel According to Bobby Glass": Eddie wins the auction for Bobby's empire by having Johnston arrested for tax fraud, killing rival bidders and executing his partner Henry Collins, and Bobby reveals his retirement was a test. Season 2 ends with "Bring Me the Head", in which Eddie learns that Freddy ordered the attacks on the family to reclaim the dukedom, spares him, and makes him behead the Liverpool gangster John Dixon. Netflix ordered a third season in August 2026.

A secret order called the Protectors of the Path has guarded the Fountain for centuries, and its agent Esme (Eiza González) keeps cutting in, while Interpol inspector Jamal Abbas (Arian Moayed) chases everyone.
