The Man from U.N.C.L.E. recap

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015) pairs a CIA thief-turned-agent and a KGB enforcer in 1963 to stop a neo-Nazi couple from building a private nuclear bomb. Guy Ritchie directed and co-wrote with Lionel Wigram, his eighth feature, based on the 1960s television series. Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) smuggles Gaby Teller (Alicia Vikander), daughter of a missing nuclear scientist, out of East Berlin while Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) tries to stop them. Their superiors then order the two rivals to work together. In Rome, Gaby's uncle works for the shipping heiress Victoria Vinciguerra (Elizabeth Debicki) and her husband Alexander, who are holding Gaby's father. Illya poses as Gaby's fiancé, Solo charms Victoria, and both men carry secret orders to take the scientist's research disc for their own side. Gaby appears to betray them, and the trail leads to an island fortress.
