The Conjuring recap
In 1971, Roger and Carolyn Perron move into an old farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island, with their five daughters. The family dog is found dead, the clocks stop at 3:07 every morning, Carolyn wakes covered in bruises, and the girls are attacked by unseen figures. Carolyn asks Ed and Lorraine Warren for help. Lorraine senses a dark presence, and the Warrens learn the house once belonged to Bathsheba Sherman, a witch who sacrificed her baby to the devil, cursed anyone who took her land and hanged herself in 1863. With their assistant Drew and a police officer, the Warrens set up cameras and gather evidence to ask the Church for an exorcism. While they are away, the spirit follows them home and threatens their own daughter Judy.
How The Conjuring ends
Bathsheba possesses Carolyn, who takes two of her daughters to the cellar to kill them. Ed, unable to wait for Church approval, performs the exorcism himself, and Lorraine pulls Carolyn back by reminding her of a happy day with her family on the beach. Carolyn expels the spirit, and the family is saved. Back home, Ed adds a music box from the house to the museum and takes a call about their next case.

Annabelle recap
In 1967 Santa Monica, medical student John Form gives his pregnant wife Mia a rare vintage doll for the baby's nursery. That night, their neighbours, the Higgins couple, are murdered by their estranged daughter Annabelle and a man, both members of a satanic cult. The killers break into the Forms' house; the police shoot the man, and Annabelle kills herself in the nursery while holding the doll. Strange things start happening, and after Mia gives birth to their daughter Leah, the family moves to an apartment in Pasadena and throws the doll away, but it turns up in a moving box. A detective tells Mia the cult was trying to summon a demon. A neighbour, the bookseller Evelyn, helps Mia learn that the demon is attached to the doll and wants a human soul. Their priest, Father Perez, tries to take the doll to the Warrens but is attacked.
How Annabelle ends
The demon kidnaps Leah to force Mia to give up her own soul, and Mia is about to jump from a window with the doll. Evelyn, who has carried guilt for years over a car crash that killed her daughter, jumps instead, and the demon and the doll vanish while Leah is safe. Six months later, a mother buys the doll in an antique shop for her daughter Debbie, a nursing student, and the doll is last seen in the Warrens' museum.

The Conjuring 2 recap
While investigating the Amityville murders in 1976, Lorraine has a vision of a demon in a nun's habit and of Ed's death, and she wants them to stop taking cases. In 1977, in Enfield, north London, single mother Peggy Hodgson and her four children are terrorised by the ghost of an old man, Bill Wilkins, who died in the house and speaks through eleven-year-old Janet. The case is all over the news, and the Church sends the Warrens to see if it is real. Ed and Lorraine find the family desperate and Janet badly frightened, but sceptics doubt them, and when Janet is caught on camera wrecking the kitchen herself, the Warrens leave, thinking the case is a hoax. On the train, Lorraine realises Wilkins is a puppet of something else: the demon nun, Valak.
How The Conjuring 2 ends
The Warrens rush back as the possessed Janet tries to throw herself from a window. Ed, who has been nearly killed in a vision, holds onto her while Lorraine, who wrote the demon's name in her Bible during a vision, speaks the name Valak and banishes it to hell. Janet is freed. At home, Ed adds a toy from the case to their museum.

Annabelle: Creation recap
In the 1940s, dollmaker Samuel Mullins and his wife Esther lose their seven-year-old daughter Annabelle, called Bee, in a road accident. Twelve years later, they open their remote farmhouse to Sister Charlotte and six girls from a closed orphanage. Janice, a girl weakened by polio, is drawn into Bee's locked room and finds a doll in a closet, which releases a demon. The demon terrorises Janice and her best friend Linda, throws Janice from a stairlift, and finally possesses her. Esther, disfigured and confined to her room, explains that she and Samuel prayed for any power to let them see Bee again; something came into the doll, and they realised it was a demon. They locked it away and took in the orphans as penance, giving the demon new souls to target. The possessed Janice kills Samuel.
How Annabelle: Creation ends
The demon kills Esther and attacks the others, and Sister Charlotte locks Janice and the doll in the closet. The police find only the doll, but Janice has escaped and turns up at an orphanage in Santa Monica, where she calls herself Annabelle and is adopted by the Higgins couple. Twelve years later, the grown Annabelle murders her adoptive parents, and next door Mia Form hears the screams, linking straight into Annabelle.

The Nun recap
In 1952, a nun at an abbey in Romania hangs herself rather than let an evil presence take her. The Vatican sends Father Burke, a priest haunted by a failed exorcism, and Sister Irene, a novice who has visions, to investigate. Frenchie, a young villager who found the body, guides them. Burke is buried alive by the demon and rescued by Irene. Inside the abbey, Irene learns that a duke once opened a gateway to hell in the catacombs, that it was sealed with a relic holding the blood of Christ, and that wartime bombing broke the seal. The nuns have prayed in shifts to keep the demon, Valak, at bay, but Irene discovers they are long dead and she has been praying alone. Burke finds that the abbess has been dead the whole time too.
How The Nun ends
Irene takes her vows so she can handle the relic, and Valak possesses her briefly and nearly drowns her. She spits the blood of Christ into its face and the gateway is sealed. Frenchie revives her and reveals his real name is Maurice, but he was marked by Valak earlier. Twenty years later, the Warrens show a lecture film of their exorcism of the adult Maurice, who shows Lorraine a vision of Ed's death.

Annabelle Comes Home recap
The Warrens take the Annabelle doll from two nurses and lock it in a blessed glass case in their artifact room. A year later, they leave their young daughter Judy with her babysitter, Mary Ellen, overnight. Judy's classmates avoid her because of her parents' work, so Mary Ellen holds an early birthday party. Mary Ellen's friend Daniela comes over uninvited, hoping to contact her dead father, whose death in a car crash she blames on herself. She sneaks into the artifact room, touches everything and opens Annabelle's case. The doll wakes the other spirits in the room: the Ferryman, who takes the coins from dead eyes, a cursed bride's dress, a demonic hound and a haunted board game. Mary Ellen's admirer Bob is chased by the hound, and the three girls are stalked through the house.
How Annabelle Comes Home ends
Judy works out that the doll must be locked back in its case to stop the other spirits. With help from a ghostly priest and Bob, the girls retrieve the doll, and a freed Daniela helps them force the case shut and lock it. The haunting stops at once. In the morning, the Warrens return, Judy's classmates come to her party, and Lorraine gives Daniela a message from her father.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It recap
In 1981, the Warrens help a priest exorcise eight-year-old David Glatzel, and Arne Johnson, the boyfriend of David's sister Debbie, invites the demon into himself to save the boy. Ed has a heart attack and misses it. Weeks later, Arne stabs his landlord to death in a trance. The Warrens believe him, and Arne's lawyers plan a defence of demonic possession, the first in American history, which needs proof. The Warrens find a cursed charm under the Glatzel house, placed there deliberately, and learn of a similar case in which a girl was murdered by her friend. A retired priest who studied satanic cults, Father Kastner, tells them about an occultist, and they discover she is his own daughter, Isla. She is targeting Arne, who tries to kill himself in jail.
How The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It ends
In tunnels under Kastner's house, Isla possesses Ed, who nearly kills Lorraine, but she reaches him by recalling the day they met. Ed smashes the altar, breaking the curse and saving Arne, and Isla is claimed by the demon she served. Arne is found guilty of manslaughter rather than murder and serves five years, marrying Debbie in prison. Ed gives Lorraine a garden gazebo he built.

The Nun II recap
In 1956, a priest in Tarascon, France, is burned alive in his church. Four years after The Nun, Sister Irene is sent by the Church to investigate a string of deaths across Europe linked to Valak, travelling with a young novice, Sister Debra. Maurice, who was possessed at the end of the first film, now works at a boarding school in Tarascon, where he has become friends with a student, Sophie, and her mother Kate, a teacher. Valak is using Maurice as its host. Irene learns the demon was a fallen angel and is hunting the relic of Saint Lucy, the eyes of a martyr whose body would not burn, which was kept in a monastery that is now Sophie's school. Irene realises she is descended from Saint Lucy, and Valak kills the headmistress and turns the school's stained-glass goat into a monster.
How The Nun II ends
Irene and Debra find Saint Lucy's eyes as the possessed Maurice hunts Sophie. Valak sets Irene on fire, but she does not burn. The two nuns bless the old wine barrels, turning the wine into the blood of Christ and drowning the demon, and Maurice is freed. The next morning, Irene watches Maurice leave with Sophie and Kate, still worried about him.
Post-credits scenes
Yes. A mid-credits scene shows Ed and Lorraine Warren, using footage from an earlier film, tying Maurice's story back to the main Conjuring films.

The Conjuring: Last Rites recap
In 1964, the Warrens investigate a haunted antique mirror, and Lorraine has a vision that sends her into early labour; their daughter Judy is born not breathing and revives after Lorraine prays. In 1986, the Smurl family moves into a house in West Pittston, Pennsylvania, and grandfather John gives his granddaughter Heather the mirror as a confirmation gift. The family is tormented by spirits of an old woman, a young woman and a man with an axe. Ed's failing heart has made the Warrens retire. Judy, now an adult with visions of her own, is dating a former police officer, Tony Spera. A priest the Smurls turn to is driven to suicide by the demon, and Judy, seeing a vision at his funeral, goes to Pennsylvania alone, so Ed, Lorraine and Tony follow. Lorraine finds that the mirror holds the same demon from their first case and that it wants Judy.
How The Conjuring: Last Rites ends
The demon possesses Judy, triggers Ed's heart trouble and attacks Lorraine. Ed cuts Judy down when she tries to hang herself, and Lorraine revives her. Lorraine tells Judy to accept her gift, and together they pray and shatter the mirror. The Smurls live in peace afterwards, and the mirror goes into the museum. Later, Ed walks Judy down the aisle at her wedding to Tony, and Lorraine sees a future of family and adventure.
