The Conjuring 2 recap
While investigating the Amityville murders in 1976, Lorraine has a vision of a demon in a nun's habit and of Ed's death, and she wants them to stop taking cases. In 1977, in Enfield, north London, single mother Peggy Hodgson and her four children are terrorised by the ghost of an old man, Bill Wilkins, who died in the house and speaks through eleven-year-old Janet. The case is all over the news, and the Church sends the Warrens to see if it is real. Ed and Lorraine find the family desperate and Janet badly frightened, but sceptics doubt them, and when Janet is caught on camera wrecking the kitchen herself, the Warrens leave, thinking the case is a hoax. On the train, Lorraine realises Wilkins is a puppet of something else: the demon nun, Valak.
The Conjuring 2 ending explained
The Warrens rush back as the possessed Janet tries to throw herself from a window. Ed, who has been nearly killed in a vision, holds onto her while Lorraine, who wrote the demon's name in her Bible during a vision, speaks the name Valak and banishes it to hell. Janet is freed. At home, Ed adds a toy from the case to their museum.
