The story
Searching for a safer habitat, the prehistoric Crood family discovers an idyllic, walled-in paradise that meets all of its needs. Unfortunately, they must also learn to live with the Bettermans -- a family that's a couple of steps above the Croods on the evolutionary ladder. As tensions between the new neighbors start to rise, a new threat soon propels both clans on an epic adventure that forces them to embrace their differences, draw strength from one another, and survive together.
The Croods: A New Age recap
The Croods, with Guy, are still looking for a home, and Grug worries that Eep and Guy plan to leave the family. They find a walled paradise owned by the Bettermans, Phil, Hope and their daughter Dawn, a more advanced family who knew Guy's parents and who want Guy to stay with them and marry Dawn. Phil works on Grug while Hope looks down on the Croods. Eep and Dawn become fast friends. The tension comes to a head and the Croods decide to leave. Then the Punch Monkeys attack, angry that the Croods ate the bananas Phil gives them; they capture Grug, Phil and Guy as offerings for a monstrous creature.
The Croods: A New Age ending explained
The women of both families team up as the Thunder Sisters and rescue the men, and Guy and Eep make up. The families knock the monster into a chasm and the Punch Monkeys make peace. The Bettermans invite the Croods to live with them, and the two families settle together as neighbours.
