The story
For Peter Parker, life is busy. Between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen Stacy, high school graduation cannot come quickly enough. Peter has not forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away, but that is a promise he cannot keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 recap
Peter graduates and keeps breaking up and getting back with Gwen, haunted by his promise to her father. Harry Osborn returns as Norman dies of a genetic disease and learns he has it too; he becomes convinced Spider-Man's blood can cure him. Max Dillon, a lonely Oscorp electrician who idolises Spider-Man, falls into a tank of electric eels and becomes Electro, who turns on Spider-Man after a misunderstanding in Times Square. Peter finds his father's video in a hidden lab: Richard fled because Oscorp wanted to weaponise his research, and his genes are why the spider bite worked only on Peter. Harry, fired by Oscorp, frees Electro and injects himself with spider venom, becoming the Green Goblin.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ending explained
