Struggling to find his place in the world while juggling school and family, Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales is unexpectedly bitten by a radioactive spider and develops unfathomable powers just like the one and only Spider-Man. While wrestling with the implications of his new abilities, Miles discovers a super collider created by the madman Wilson "Kingpin" Fisk, causing others from across the Spider-Verse to be inadvertently transported to his dimension.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse recap

Miles Morales, a Brooklyn teenager at a new boarding school, is bitten by a radioactive spider while painting graffiti with his Uncle Aaron. He stumbles on Spider-Man fighting to stop Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, whose super-collider tears holes into other universes so he can find versions of his dead wife and son. Spider-Man is killed by Kingpin, and Miles promises to finish the job. The collider pulls in other Spider-people: a tired, older Peter B. Parker, Gwen Stacy as Spider-Woman, Spider-Man Noir, Peni Parker with her robot, and Spider-Ham. They need to return home before their bodies break down, and they doubt Miles can control his powers. Miles discovers that Uncle Aaron is the Prowler, Kingpin's enforcer; Aaron is shot by Kingpin when he refuses to kill Miles.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse ending explained

Miles finds his confidence, takes the leap, and joins the others at the collider. He sends each of them home, including Peter B., who chooses to go back and fix his life with Mary Jane, and beats Kingpin, destroying the collider. Fisk is arrested, Miles's father, a police officer, accepts Spider-Man, and Miles becomes the new Spider-Man of his world. Gwen reaches him across universes at the end.

Post-credits scenes

Yes. In a post-credits scene, Miguel O'Hara, Spider-Man 2099, gets a device from his AI assistant Lyla to travel between universes and chooses Earth-67, where he argues with the 1967 cartoon Spider-Man, pointing at each other. It sets up Miguel's role in the sequel.
