Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse recap

More than a year after the first film, Miles balances being Spider-Man with his parents and college applications. On Gwen Stacy's Earth, her father, a police captain, learns she is Spider-Woman and believes she killed Peter Parker; she runs off to join the Spider-Society, a group of Spider-people led by Miguel O'Hara. A villain called the Spot, made by Kingpin's collider, discovers he can open portals and grows stronger. Miles follows Gwen to the Society's headquarters, Nueva York, where Miguel explains canon events: certain losses that every Spider-person must suffer, and if broken, a universe can collapse. Miles learns that his own father, about to become a captain, is meant to die. He refuses to accept it and flees the Society.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ending explained

Miles escapes using the Society's machine, but it sends him to the wrong Earth, the one the radioactive spider came from, where he never became Spider-Man. His father there is dead, his Uncle Aaron is alive and is the Prowler, and the Miles of that world is that world's Prowler. Gwen gathers a team of Spider-people, including Peter B. Parker, to rescue him. The story continues in Beyond the Spider-Verse.
