Morbius

Movie, 2022, Sony, Set in Present day

Morbius is #9 of 13 in release order and #9 of 13 in chronological order in the Spider-Man.

The story

Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Michael Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.

Morbius recap

Dr. Michael Morbius, a biologist with a rare blood disease that keeps him weak, grew up in a Greek hospital with Milo, a boy with the same illness, under the care of Dr. Emil Nicholas. As an adult, Michael turns down a Nobel Prize for artificial blood and secretly splices vampire bat genes into himself on a ship in international waters, funded by the wealthy Milo. It cures him but turns him into a vampire with speed, strength and echolocation, and he kills the ship's crew. Back in New York, his artificial blood stops satisfying him. Milo takes the cure too, revels in it and starts killing, and FBI agents chase Michael as the suspect. Michael and his colleague and love interest Martine Bancroft make an antibody that can kill the vampirism.

Morbius ending explained

Milo kills Nicholas and mortally wounds Martine, and Michael drinks her blood as she dies. He summons bats to hold Milo and injects him with the antibody, killing him, and flies off with the swarm. Martine, who swallowed a drop of Michael's blood, opens her eyes with red irises.

Post-credits scenes

Yes. In two mid-credits scenes, Adrian Toomes, the Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming, is pulled into Morbius's universe by the multiverse rift, builds a new suit, and suggests Michael join him against Spider-Man.
