Finding Dory recap

A year after Nemo's rescue, Dory recovers a memory of her parents, Jenny and Charlie, and of the "Jewel of Morro Bay, California". Marlin and Nemo go with her across the ocean. At the Marine Life Institute in California, Dory is caught and tagged for transfer to an aquarium in Cleveland, and meets Hank, a grumpy septopus who wants her tag so he can live in a tank in Cleveland instead of being released. Hank helps her through the institute, where she meets the near-sighted whale shark Destiny, her childhood friend, and the beluga Bailey, who uses echolocation. Marlin and Nemo get in with the help of two sea lions and a loon. Dory learns her parents went to quarantine to look for her, years ago, and her search leads her to believe they are gone.

Finding Dory ending explained

Alone in the open ocean, Dory follows a trail of shells and finds her parents, who had laid shell trails for years hoping she would return. Marlin and Nemo are loaded onto the truck bound for Cleveland, and Dory and Hank hijack the truck and drive it into the sea, freeing the fish. Dory, her parents, Hank, Destiny and Bailey settle at the reef with Marlin and Nemo.
