The story

Pursued by Wilson Fisk's criminal empire, Maya's journey brings her home and she must confront her own family and legacy.

Echo recap

Maya Lopez, a deaf Choctaw woman raised by her father, a gangster for Wilson Fisk, lost her mother in an accident as a child, and Fisk raised her as his niece after her father was killed. After shooting Fisk at the end of Hawkeye, she returns to Tamaha, Oklahoma, to take over his network in the region, reconnecting with her grandmother Chula, her cousin Bonnie and her uncle Henry, and running into Daredevil along the way. Flashbacks show Choctaw women across the centuries, Maya's ancestors, with special powers. Fisk survived, and he comes to Oklahoma to bring Maya back, threatening her family.

Echo ending explained

At a powwow, Maya and the women of her family use their shared ancestral power, and Maya reaches into Fisk's mind and shows him his childhood trauma, breaking his hold. Fisk leaves. In a mid-credits scene, Fisk watches the news about the New York mayoral election and decides to run, leading into Daredevil: Born Again.
