Pokémon: Jirachi Wish Maker recap
Every thousand years the Millennium Comet passes for seven days, and Jirachi wakes to absorb its energy. Ash, May, Max and Brock visit a comet festival, where Max hears a voice coming from a cocoon used in a stage trick by the magician Butler. Butler gives Max the cocoon, Jirachi emerges, and the two become friends; when Max wishes for candy, Jirachi teleports it from a stall. Butler, a former Team Magma scientist who once failed to revive Groudon, wants Jirachi's energy to try again. Absol shows up to warn the group, and they travel with Butler's partner Diane toward Forina, where Jirachi must go back to sleep. Max dreads the parting, and Ash tells him friends stay friends even when apart.
Pokémon: Jirachi Wish Maker ending explained
Butler captures Jirachi and uses its energy to raise a Groudon, but it is a fake that drains life from the land and swallows May, Brock, Team Rocket and Diane. Losing Diane makes Butler realise what matters, and he helps Ash and Max distract it. Jirachi takes back its energy and destroys the fake Groudon with Doom Desire, restoring everyone, then falls asleep for another thousand years. Before leaving, Max hears Jirachi promising they will always be friends.
