The story
Nick Fury and Talos discover a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.
Secret Invasion recap
Nick Fury returns to Earth after years on a space station when a faction of Skrull refugees, led by Gravik, starts bombing and infiltrating governments to start a war between the United States and Russia and take Earth. Gravik, disguised as Fury, kills Maria Hill. Talos's daughter G'iah spies inside Gravik's group, and Fury works with MI6 agent Sonya Falsworth. Fury's wife, Varra, is also a Skrull. Gravik builds a machine that gives Skrulls the powers of heroes using the Harvest, DNA collected after the battle with Thanos. Talos is killed. James Rhodes turns out to have been a Skrull, Raava, for years, and the real Rhodes is held captive.
Secret Invasion ending explained
Fury trades the Harvest to Gravik but gives a copy to G'iah, who gains super powers and kills Gravik. The real Rhodes is freed, but President Ritson declares war on all Skrulls on Earth. Fury leaves Earth with Varra, and G'iah and Sonya Falsworth work together.
