The story
After stealing the Tesseract during the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” an alternate version of Loki is brought to the mysterious Time Variance Authority, a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space and monitors the timeline. They give Loki a choice: face being erased from existence due to being a “time variant” or help fix the timeline and stop a greater threat.
Loki: Season 2 recap
This is the second season. After He Who Remains' death, Loki starts time slipping, jumping between the past, present and future, and the Temporal Loom, the machine that turns raw time into timelines, starts to fail under the new branches. With the help of Ouroboros, a TVA engineer, Loki learns to control his slipping. Sylvie lives a quiet life in 1982 Oklahoma, and Ravonna Renslayer, with Miss Minutes, searches for Victor Timely, a variant of He Who Remains in 1890s Chicago. Victor is brought to the TVA to fix the Loom, and it explodes, killing him and wiping out the TVA. Loki learns to travel back through time at will and relives events for centuries, trying every way to save everyone.
Loki: Season 2 ending explained
Loki realises the Loom cannot survive infinite timelines. He walks to it, destroys it and takes hold of the timelines himself, sitting on the throne at the End of Time and holding them together in the shape of a tree. The TVA now watches over Kang variants, Mobius visits his variant's life on Earth, and Sylvie remains in 1982.
