The story
Cool government operative James Bond searches for a stolen invention that can turn the sun's heat into a destructive weapon. He soon crosses paths with the menacing Francisco Scaramanga, a hitman so skilled he has a seven-figure working fee. Bond then joins forces with the swimsuit-clad Mary Goodnight, and together they track Scaramanga to a Thai tropical isle hideout where the killer-for-hire lures the slick spy into a deadly maze for a final duel.
The Man with the Golden Gun recap
A golden bullet engraved with 007 arrives at MI6, apparently from Francisco Scaramanga, the world's best-paid assassin, who uses a golden gun and charges a million dollars a kill. Bond is taken off a case involving the Solex Agitator, a device that can harness solar power, and goes after Scaramanga anyway. In Hong Kong, Macau and Bangkok, he finds the bullet was sent by Scaramanga's mistress, Andrea Anders, who wants Scaramanga dead. Scaramanga kills the Solex inventor and steals the device. Bond jumps a car across a broken bridge in a corkscrew turn, and Andrea is murdered. Scaramanga flies off with agent Mary Goodnight.
The Man with the Golden Gun ending explained
Bond follows Scaramanga to his island off China, where the assassin challenges him to a duel in his funhouse. Bond hides by posing as a wax figure of himself and shoots Scaramanga dead. Goodnight accidentally knocks a guard into the solar plant's coolant, and the island explodes after Bond recovers the Solex. Scaramanga's small servant Nick Nack attacks them on their boat and is tied up.
