The story

A newly-developed microchip designed by Zorin Industries for the British Government that can survive the electromagnetic radiation caused by a nuclear explosion has landed in the hands of the KGB. His suspicions soon lead him to big industry leader Max Zorin who forms a plan to destroy his only competition in Silicon Valley by triggering a massive earthquake in the San Francisco Bay.

A View to a Kill recap

Bond recovers a microchip from the body of agent 003 in Siberia; it is a copy of a British chip that can survive a nuclear pulse, made by Zorin Industries. Bond investigates Max Zorin, a horse breeder and tech magnate who was the product of Nazi medical experiments and once worked for the KGB. Zorin's bodyguard and lover May Day kills a French detective from the Eiffel Tower, and Bond chases her. In San Francisco, Bond teams up with the geologist Stacey Sutton, whom Zorin is trying to buy out. Zorin plans to set off explosives along the San Andreas and Hayward faults, flood Silicon Valley and control the world's microchip market.

A View to a Kill ending explained

Zorin floods the mine and abandons his own workers, including May Day. She turns on him and rides the bomb out of the mine on a rail cart, dying in the blast that saves the valley. Zorin kidnaps Stacey in his airship, and Bond fights him on top of the Golden Gate Bridge, where Zorin falls to his death. Bond and Stacey are found in a shower by Q's robot.
