Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers recap

Ten years after the hospital fire, Michael has been in a coma. When he is moved by ambulance on October 30, 1988, he hears that his sister Laurie, since killed in a car crash, has a daughter, Jamie Lloyd, and he wakes, kills the crew and heads for Haddonfield. Loomis, scarred from the fire, follows. Eight-year-old Jamie lives with her foster family, the Carruthers, and has nightmares about her uncle. Her teenage foster sister Rachel takes her trick-or-treating. Michael cuts the town's power, kills a police station full of officers, and hunts Jamie. Sheriff Meeker gathers the girls at his house, while a lynch mob of local men goes out after Michael.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers ending explained

Michael chases Rachel and Jamie across rooftops and into a pickup truck, and Rachel runs him off the road. The police and the mob riddle him with bullets and he falls into a mine shaft. At home, Jamie, wearing a clown costume like Michael's first one, stabs her foster mother with scissors, and Loomis screams as he sees what she has become. Halloween 5 picks up from there.
