How to Train Your Dragon 2 recap
Five years after dragons came to live on Berk, Hiccup and Toothless are mapping new lands. Stoick wants Hiccup to become chief, but Hiccup is not sure who he is. He meets dragon trappers working for Drago Bludvist, a warlord building a dragon army. A masked dragon rider takes Hiccup to a sanctuary under the protection of a giant Bewilderbeast, the alpha that every dragon obeys. The rider is Valka, Hiccup's mother, who was carried off by a dragon twenty years earlier and has protected dragons ever since. Stoick finds them and reunites with Valka. Drago attacks the sanctuary with his own Bewilderbeast, which kills Valka's alpha and takes control of the dragons.
How to Train Your Dragon 2 ending explained
Drago's alpha makes Toothless fire on Hiccup, and Stoick dives in and is killed. After Stoick's funeral, Hiccup rides baby dragons back to Berk, frees Toothless from the alpha's control and, with the dragons' combined fire, breaks the Bewilderbeast's tusk. Toothless becomes the new alpha, Drago is driven off, and Hiccup becomes chief of Berk.
