The story
After the birth of Renesmee, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi.

Bella wakes as a vampire with unusual self-control and meets Renesmee, who grows at an alarming rate. Bella is outraged to learn that Jacob imprinted on her baby. Jacob reveals he is a wolf to Charlie to keep Bella in his life. Irina, a vampire from the Denali coven, sees Renesmee and mistakes her for an "immortal child", a vampire turned in childhood, which the Volturi forbid, and reports the Cullens. Alice sees the Volturi coming to destroy them and disappears with Jasper. The Cullens gather vampires from around the world to witness that Renesmee is half human and growing. Bella learns that her gift is a mental shield that protects others.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 ending explained
On a snowy field, Aro accepts that Renesmee is not an immortal child but looks for another excuse to attack. Alice returns and shows Aro a vision of a battle in which he and many others, Cullens included, die. Alice and Jasper also bring Nahuel, a grown half-vampire from South America, who proves Renesmee is no danger. Having seen how the fight would end, Aro chooses to leave. Bella lowers her shield to show Edward her memories, and they look forward to forever. The saga ends here.
Post-credits scenes
The end credits open with a "curtain call" of the cast from all five films. There is no post-credits scene.
