The story

Resident Evil recap

On the night the T-virus breaks out in Raccoon City, Bryan, a medical courier, takes a last-minute delivery to Raccoon City General Hospital while arguing on the phone with his pregnant girlfriend, Michelle. He hits a woman on a mountain road; the deputy who stops him dies in a crash, and the infected woman attacks. At a farm Bryan is ambushed by her husband, and the two bodies fuse into a tentacled mass that hunts him for the rest of the night. A girl bites him in a tunnel. Two Umbrella employees, Paul and Maxine, rescue him and explain that the package holds a stabiliser scientists need for a cure. Maxine is killed and Paul is absorbed into the creature as Bryan fights his way through the sewers and a hospital overrun with mutated patients, recording a goodbye to Michelle as his bite spreads.

Resident Evil ending explained

Bryan delivers the package, but his infection takes over as the scientists begin work on the cure: his body sprouts mutant limbs that kill them, and the finished cure falls from the rooftop. Fully transformed, he roars as National Guard helicopters arrive over the city. The film is a standalone reboot that runs alongside the events of the Resident Evil 2 game and features none of the game characters.
