The story
After hundreds of years doing what he was built for, WALL•E— a robot designed to clean up the earth—discovers a new purpose in life when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL•E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet's future, and races back to space to report to the humans. Meanwhile, WALL•E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most imaginative adventures ever brought to the big screen.
WALL-E recap
In 2805, Earth is a deserted landfill, abandoned by humanity seven hundred years earlier, and a single trash-compacting robot, WALL-E, still works, collecting trinkets and watching an old musical. A sleek probe robot, EVE, lands searching for plant life, and WALL-E falls for her. When he shows her a seedling he found, she stores it and shuts down, and her ship takes her back with WALL-E clinging to the outside. They reach the Axiom, a luxury starship where generations of people float on hover chairs, overweight and absorbed in screens. The captain learns from the plant that Earth can support life again and wants to go home, but the autopilot, AUTO, is following a secret order never to return and tries to destroy the plant.
WALL-E ending explained
WALL-E is crushed getting the plant into the holo-detector that will send the ship home, and the captain stands up and switches off AUTO. The Axiom lands on Earth. EVE repairs WALL-E, but his memory is lost until she kisses him and his personality returns. The humans step out onto the ground for the first time, plant the seedling, and begin farming and rebuilding with the help of the robots. WALL-E and EVE hold hands.
Post-credits scenes
During the credits, still images in changing art styles show the humans and robots rebuilding Earth over generations. At the very end, WALL-E changes the bulb of the Pixar lamp. There is no post-credits scene.
