Together they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Thor: Love and Thunder recap
Gorr, a starving believer, watches his daughter die and finds his god Rapu laughing at his followers. He takes the Necrosword, which kills gods, and swears to kill them all. Thor, travelling with the Guardians, answers a distress call and follows Gorr to New Asgard, where he finds Jane Foster wielding the rebuilt Mjolnir as the Mighty Thor. Jane has stage four cancer, and the hammer's power drains her body. Gorr kidnaps the Asgardian children. Thor, Jane, Valkyrie and Korg go to Omnipotence City to ask Zeus for help, Zeus refuses, and Thor steals his thunderbolt. In the Shadow Realm, Gorr wants Thor's Stormbreaker, which can open the path to Eternity, a being that grants a wish.
Thor: Love and Thunder ending explained
Thor frees the children and gives them powers to fight Gorr's shadow monsters. Jane joins Thor at Eternity's altar as Mighty Thor one last time, and Thor persuades Gorr to wish his daughter back rather than destroy the gods.
