The story
Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn't remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter Parker he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves - a powerful villain no one can even see.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day recap
Four years after Doctor Strange's spell made the world forget Peter Parker, Peter works alone as Spider-Man in New York, keeping away from MJ and Ned, who do not know him. He clashes with Frank Castle, the Punisher, over a reckless chase. A telepath who jumps between bodies helps Mac Gargan escape custody, and Yelena Belova reports attacks on Damage Control sites by someone looking for "V-Max". Peter's powers begin to change, giving him organic webs and sharper senses, and when he loses control and badly beats Gargan, Bruce Banner helps him build an inhibitor. The telepath possesses MJ and nearly kills her, then takes over Banner, setting off a savage Hulk that Peter has to subdue. The telepath is Jean Grey, searching for her sister Sara, whom Damage Control has secretly taken.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day ending explained
At a Damage Control facility on Roosevelt Island, Jean finds Sara's cell and freezes everyone around her in rage. Peter takes off his inhibitor, stops her from killing the facility's director, and reaches her by sharing a memory of Aunt May. Castle fires at Jean, Peter shields her and is badly wounded, and Jean keeps him alive. Peter wakes in hospital, vows at May's grave to stop doing everything alone, and runs into Ned, who completes their old handshake and says his name.
Post-credits scenes
