Marvel's Daredevil recap
In season 1, Matt Murdock, blinded as a boy by a chemical spill that sharpened his other senses, opens a law firm in Hell's Kitchen with his best friend Foggy Nelson and their first client, Karen Page, who becomes their secretary. At night he fights crime in a black mask. The crime behind his cases leads to Wilson Fisk, who plans to rebuild the neighborhood with dirty money and falls for gallery owner Vanessa Marianna. Fisk kills reporter Ben Urich, Foggy discovers Matt's secret and their friendship breaks, and Matt gets a red armored suit. In season 2, Frank Castle, the Punisher, slaughters the gangs who killed his family; Daredevil fights him, then Nelson and Murdock defend him in court. Matt's ex, Elektra Natchios, pulls him into a war with the Hand, an ancient ninja order. Elektra dies saving Matt and the Hand take her body, the firm falls apart, and Matt tells Karen who he is. In season 3, after The Defenders, an injured Matt is nursed back to health by nuns at the orphanage where he grew up, one of them Sister Maggie, his mother. Fisk trades information with the FBI to move from prison to a hotel, and has Benjamin Poindexter, an unstable FBI marksman, dress as Daredevil to commit crimes and turn the city against Matt. FBI agent Ray Nadeem records a confession about Fisk before he is killed.
Marvel's Daredevil ending explained
The series ends at Fisk and Vanessa's wedding, where Matt fights Poindexter and then beats Fisk without killing him. He forces a deal: Fisk goes back to prison quietly and leaves Matt's friends alone, and in return Vanessa is not charged for the murder she ordered. Poindexter is left in surgery with a broken spine, and Matt, Foggy and Karen plan a new firm together. Netflix ended the show after season 3, and Daredevil: Born Again picks up the same characters.
