No Time to Die is #27 of 27 in release order and #25 of 27 in chronological order in the James Bond.

The story

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

No Time to Die recap

At the grave of Vesper in Italy, Bond is ambushed and believes Madeleine betrayed him, so he leaves her. Five years later, retired in Jamaica, he is asked by Felix Leiter to rescue a scientist who has stolen Heracles, a nanobot weapon coded to a person's DNA. The new 007, Nomi, is on the same case. In Cuba, a SPECTRE party meant to kill Bond turns into a massacre of SPECTRE itself, and Felix is killed by a traitor. Behind it is Lyutsifer Safin, whose family was murdered by Mr. White, and who once spared a young Madeleine. Blofeld, in prison, dies from Heracles. Bond finds Madeleine has a daughter, Mathilde.

No Time to Die ending explained

Safin kidnaps Madeleine and Mathilde to his island factory, and Bond and Nomi rescue them. Bond stays to open the silo doors for a missile strike and is infected with nanobots coded to Madeleine and Mathilde, so he can never touch them again. He kills Safin, tells Madeleine he loves her, and dies in the missile strike. MI6 toasts him, and the credits promise that James Bond will return. The Craig story is complete; the next film will start again with a new Bond.
