A British spy ship has sunk and on board was a hi-tech encryption device. James Bond is sent to find the device that holds British launching instructions before the enemy Soviets get to it first.
For Your Eyes Only recap
Bond visits his wife Tracy's grave and escapes a bald man in a wheelchair who tries to kill him by remote-controlled helicopter. A British spy ship carrying ATAC, a system that directs submarines, sinks off Albania. The marine archaeologist Havelock is hired to find it and is murdered with his wife by the hitman Gonzales, and their daughter Melina takes revenge. Bond meets the Greek businessman Aris Kristatos, who points him at the smuggler Milos Columbo as the man behind it. In fact Kristatos is the traitor, working for the KGB, and Columbo becomes Bond's ally. Bond and Melina recover ATAC from the wreck, and Kristatos takes it from them and drags them behind his boat over coral.
For Your Eyes Only ending explained
Bond, Melina and Columbo's men climb to the cliff-top monastery of St. Cyril's, where Kristatos is about to hand ATAC to the KGB. Columbo kills Kristatos with a thrown knife. When General Gogol arrives, Bond throws ATAC off the cliff, so neither side has it, and Gogol laughs. The Prime Minister calls to congratulate Bond and gets Melina's parrot instead.
