In 1953, Elise Rainier is a child with psychic gifts in Five Keys, New Mexico, where her father Gerald, who works at the state prison next door, beats her for seeing ghosts. Locked in the basement, she opens a red door, releasing a demon called Keyface, who kills her mother. In 2010, Elise is called back to her childhood home by its new owner, Ted Garza, who says it is haunted. With Specs and Tucker, she finds a girl chained in the basement: Ted is a kidnapper, and Specs kills him in self-defence.
