In the Year F.C. (Future Century) 60, much of mankind inhabits space colonies which orbit the Earth. Dominance over the colonies is decided once every four years by a large tournament in which each nation sends a single representative to fight the others with a giant robot called a Gundam. Domon Kashuu is selected to represent Neo-Japan in one of these tournaments, but he fights less to ensure his nation's victory than to find his brother, who has been blamed for the deaths of Domon's parents and the disappearance of a very dangerous weapon, the Devil Gundam (Dark Gundam).
Mobile Fighter G Gundam recap
In Future Century 60, Earth's nations live in space colonies and settle disputes by holding the Gundam Fight every four years: one Gundam per nation fights on Earth, and the winner rules the colonies. Domon Kasshu, fighter for Neo Japan, enters the 13th tournament while searching for his brother Kyoji, accused of stealing the Devil Gundam, a machine that regenerates, multiplies and infects. His mechanic Rain Mikamura travels with him. Domon learns his mentor Master Asia is working with the Devil Gundam, convinced humanity must be wiped out to save Earth. Domon befriends four rivals who form the Shuffle Alliance. He finds that Kyoji, trapped inside the Devil Gundam, is innocent, and that the conspiracy runs through the Neo Japan government.
