Space Ghost Coast to Coast recap
Space Ghost, a 1960s Hanna-Barbera superhero, now hosts a late-night talk show from a studio on Ghost Planet. He interviews real celebrities, musicians and comedians who appear on a monitor, asks them baffling questions, and often assumes they have superpowers. His former enemies are forced to work for him: Zorak, a mantis-like alien, leads the house band from a cell, and Moltar, a lava being in a containment suit, directs the show from the control room. Brak, a lion-like alien villain, drops in now and then. The show recycles the original 1960s animation and edits real interviews against it, so guests seem to answer questions they were never asked. It starts on Cartoon Network in 1994, and over the years the episodes become stranger, less about the guests and more about Space Ghost's ego and fights with Zorak and Moltar. It moves to Adult Swim in 2001, where it helped set the block's style and spun off The Brak Show and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
How Space Ghost Coast to Coast ends
Space Ghost Coast to Coast has no real finale. The last new television episode, released unfinished for the show's tenth anniversary in April 2004, has the show's budget spent on bailing Space Ghost out of jail, and things go downhill from there. The show returns from 2006 to 2008 as a short web series on GameTap, in which Space Ghost interviews video game industry figures, and it officially ends with a final webisode in May 2008.

Home Movies recap
Brendon Small is an eight-year-old who makes short films with a camcorder alongside his friends Jason, a sugar-obsessed boy, and Melissa, the most level-headed of the three. The movies are ambitious, odd and usually unfinished: rock operas, period pieces, sci-fi epics. Brendon lives with his divorced mother Paula, a writing teacher, and his baby sister Josie. His soccer coach, John McGuirk, a lazy, drinking, short-tempered man, becomes a strange father figure who gives him bad advice and real support. The dialogue is mostly improvised, giving the show a loose, overlapping style. It premieres on UPN in 1999, is cancelled after five episodes, and is then picked up by Cartoon Network, becoming the first original show on Adult Swim in 2001. The first season uses jittery Squigglevision animation; from season 2 onward it switches to cleaner Flash animation. Over four seasons, to 2004, Brendon deals with his father's new wife, rivalries with other kids, and growing up a little.
How Home Movies ends
The series finale is "Focus Grill" (2004). Brendon, Jason and Melissa finish their first real film, declare their friendship, and decide their movies are not really meant for an audience. Then Brendon's camera falls out of a moving car and is run over. His grief lasts only until his mother and Coach McGuirk start a conversation about fast food, and the show ends there.

Sealab 2021 recap
Sealab 2021 takes footage from Hanna-Barbera's 1972 cartoon Sealab 2020, about an undersea research station, and redubs and reanimates it into a workplace comedy about the worst crew imaginable. Captain Hazel "Hank" Murphy is the scheming, childish commander; Dr. Quinn is the smart, vain science officer who tries to keep things working; Debbie is a marine biologist; Stormy Waters is a cheerful, dim pilot; Marco is an engineer who speaks in Spanish-flavoured outbursts; Sparks is the radio operator and a convict who runs a still; and Dr. Virjay is the bitter station doctor. Sealab is often destroyed by the end of an episode, then is back to normal the next week. After Harry Goz, Murphy's voice actor, dies in 2003, the character is written out, and the crew gets a new captain, Tornado Shanks, a former football coach voiced by Goz's son, Michael. The show starts in 2000 and runs four seasons to 2005, from the team that later made Frisky Dingo and Archer.
How Sealab 2021 ends
The final episode is "Legacy of Laughter" (2005), done as a panel interview with the cast and creators after a fake sequel screening. Audience questions go nowhere, the panel jokes that the show's problem was not being enough like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and a tribute to Captain Murphy honours Harry Goz. It promises a preview of next season after the break; there is none, and the show has not returned.

The Brak Show recap
Brak, the goofy, lisping lion-like alien villain from Space Ghost Coast to Coast, gets his own show: a parody of a 1950s and 1960s family sitcom set in the suburbs of Spacetown. He lives with Mom, a sensible homemaker, and Dad, a lazy, unemployed man with a Cuban accent who gives terrible fatherly advice. His so-called friend Zorak, the mantis-like alien, poses as a teenager and manipulates Brak while insulting the family. Next door lives Thundercleese, a giant military robot who loves his garden gnomes and suggests violence for every problem. Episodes start from sitcom setups like school projects, dating and chores, then become surreal, and Brak often breaks into song. The show premieres in 2000 and runs three seasons on Adult Swim until 2003. Mid-run, Mom's voice changes and she later gains a British accent, which the show eventually turns into a joke.
How The Brak Show ends
The final television episode is "Cardburkey" (2003): Brak moves into a cardboard box to attract women, and it is revealed that the British-accented Mom is a replacement for the original. Adult Swim cancels the show that December. It announces a return as a web cartoon, but only one webisode, "Space Adventure", is released in 2007, and that serves as the closest thing to a finale.

Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law recap
Harvey Birdman, a 1960s Hanna-Barbera superhero, has become a lawyer at the firm of Sebben and Sebben, run by Phil Ken Sebben, a loud, inappropriate boss. Harvey defends other Hanna-Barbera characters in absurd court cases: Shaggy and Scooby-Doo on drug charges, Fred Flintstone as a mob boss, Race Bannon and Dr. Quest in a custody battle over Jonny Quest. He is anxious and often out of his depth. His colleagues include Peanut, his sarcastic young sidekick, Birdgirl, Phil's daughter, who also became a hero, and Avenger, his eagle. Opposing lawyers and judges are also old cartoon characters, including Reducto, who shrinks people, and Judge Mentok the Mindtaker, who reads minds. The show runs four seasons, from 2000 to 2007, with an irregular schedule and very short episodes, and the humour relies on knowing the originals and on long running gags.
How Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law ends
The two-part finale ends with "The Death of Harvey Birdman" (2007). A jury mix-up forces Harvey to retry all his old cases, and his first client, Nitron, attacks the city. Harvey defeats him and saves everyone, then is run over and killed by Phil Ken Sebben. He comes back in the 2018 special Harvey Birdman: Attorney General, in which he tries to have President Phil Ken Sebben removed from office.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force recap
Three fast-food items share a run-down house in South New Jersey: Master Shake, a selfish, lazy milkshake who tortures his housemates; Frylock, a floating box of fries with eye lasers who is the only smart one; and Meatwad, a sweet, childlike meatball who can change shape. Their neighbour Carl, a crude, balding man who loves his pool and his car, is constantly hurt or killed by whatever chaos they bring. Visitors include the Mooninites, two pixelated aliens; the Plutonians, Oglethorpe and Emory; and many one-off monsters, which often defeat or destroy the cast before the episode resets. The characters first appear on Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and the series debuts in 2000, running 11-minute episodes. Seasons 8 to 11, from 2011 to 2015, carry joke new titles, such as Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1 and Aqua Teen Hunger Force Forever, and the setting shifts to Seattle. Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters (2007) gives a joke origin story.
How Aqua Teen Hunger Force ends
Adult Swim cancels the show in 2015 after season 11. A double-length episode is promoted as the finale, but the true last episode, "The Greatest Story Ever Told", has Shake try to gain eternal life and Carl and Frylock become immortal with a magic shampoo, and learn it is miserable. The 2022 film Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm and a five-episode season 12 in 2023 follow; co-creator Matt Maiellaro described the show as cancelled again in 2024.

Cowboy Bebop recap
In 2071, after an accident has made Earth almost uninhabitable, people live across the solar system, and bounty hunters, called cowboys, chase criminals for money. Spike Spiegel, a relaxed former hitman for the Red Dragon crime syndicate, and Jet Black, an ex-cop with a cybernetic arm, crew the spaceship Bebop and usually end up broke. They pick up Faye Valentine, a gambler with huge debts and no memory of her past; Ed, an eccentric teenage girl hacker; and Ein, a data dog. Most of the 26 episodes are standalone jobs that go wrong, mixing noir, westerns and jazz. A running story concerns Spike's past: his former partner Vicious, now his enemy, and Julia, the woman they both loved, whom Spike once planned to run away with. Faye recovers her memories and finds her childhood home gone, Jet faces his own past, and Ed leaves the ship with Ein. The show premieres in Japan in 1998 and opens Adult Swim on its first night in 2001.
How Cowboy Bebop ends
The two-part finale, "The Real Folk Blues" (1999), has Spike reunite with Julia while the syndicate hunts them; she is shot and dies in his arms. Spike says goodbye to Jet and Faye and storms the Red Dragon headquarters, kills Vicious in their final fight, then walks down the stairs, points his finger and says "bang", and collapses. His fate is left ambiguous. The 2001 film Knockin' on Heaven's Door is set before the ending.

InuYasha recap
Kagome Higurashi, a Tokyo schoolgirl, falls through a well at her family's shrine and lands in feudal Japan. She is the reincarnation of the priestess Kikyo, and she carries the Shikon Jewel, a powerful gem that demons want. She accidentally shatters it, scattering shards across the land, and sets out to collect them with Inuyasha, a hot-tempered half-demon who wants the jewel to become a full demon and whom she can subdue with one word, "Sit". They are joined by Shippo, a young fox demon; Miroku, a lecherous monk with a cursed hole in his hand; Sango, a demon slayer; and Kirara, her cat demon. Their enemy is Naraku, a half-demon who tricked Inuyasha and Kikyo into turning on each other fifty years earlier. Along the way, Inuyasha clashes with his full-demon half-brother Sesshomaru, and the bond between Inuyasha and Kagome deepens despite his feelings for the revived Kikyo. The anime runs 167 episodes from 2000 to 2004 and stops before the manga does.
How InuYasha ends
The original anime ends in 2004 without finishing the story. Inuyasha: The Final Act (2009 to 2010) adapts the rest of the manga. Naraku gathers the whole jewel and traps Kagome inside it, but with Inuyasha beside her, Kagome wishes the jewel out of existence. The well closes for three years; Kagome then returns to the past, marries Inuyasha and trains as a priestess. The sequel series Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon (2020 to 2022) follows their daughter's generation.

The Venture Bros. recap
Dr. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture was a famous boy adventurer in the 1960s, the son of the great scientist Jonas Venture. As an adult he is a bitter, pill-popping, failing scientist who drags his naive teenage sons, Hank and Dean, on adventures, protected by the violent bodyguard Brock Samson. Their arch-enemy is The Monarch, a butterfly-themed supervillain with a henchman army, his partner and later wife Dr. Girlfriend, and his henchmen 21 and 24. The show starts as a parody of Jonny Quest and similar cartoons and grows into a dense serial over seven seasons, from 2004 to 2018. The boys are revealed to be clones, regrown each time they die. The Guild of Calamitous Intent regulates super-villainy, the OSI is a spy agency, Brock leaves and returns, the Ventures move to New York, and Rusty takes over his late brother's company. Later seasons tease family secrets, including links between the Ventures and The Monarch.
How The Venture Bros. ends
Adult Swim cancels the show in 2020 after season 7, which ends with Hank leaving home. The 2023 film The Venture Bros.: Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart wraps it up. The family survives a villain who lifts the Venture tower into orbit, Hank forgives Dean, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch hints she may be the boys' biological mother, and The Monarch learns he is, like Rusty, a clone of the original Rusty, unrelated to the Ventures. He still vows to hate Rusty.

Squidbillies recap
The Cuylers are a family of anthropomorphic mud squids living in poverty in the North Georgia mountains of Dougal County. Early Cuyler is the violent, drunk, short-tempered father who is often in jail; his son Rusty is a decent, put-upon teenager who keeps getting dragged into Early's disasters; Granny is Early's ancient, nearly silent mother; and Lil is Early's sister, an alcoholic. The Sheriff, a human, keeps arresting Early and occasionally befriends him, and Dan Halen, the devil-like CEO of a company that owns most of the county, exploits them. The show satirises Southern stereotypes and the people who believe in them, in 11-minute episodes that rarely carry over. It runs 13 seasons, from 2005 to 2021. In 2020, Early's long-time voice actor is fired over comments he made online, and the character is recast for the final season.
How Squidbillies ends
Adult Swim ends the show in 2021, and the last episode, "This Show Was Called Squidbillies", serves as a finale. Granny dies, and her death splits the family when Rusty decides to marry his girlfriend Tammi and move away from Early and Dougal County. The episode title itself announces the end, and the show closes with the family that has fought through 13 seasons finally going separate ways. There has been no revival.

Robot Chicken recap
Robot Chicken opens with a mad scientist reviving a roadkill chicken as a cyborg and strapping it to a chair to watch television. What the chicken watches are rapid-fire stop-motion sketches using action figures and toys, parodying cartoons, films, toys, celebrities and pop culture, with the static of a channel being changed between each one. Sketches run from a few seconds to a few minutes, with recurring characters and celebrity voice cameos. Seth Green and Matthew Senreich created it from a web series and it premieres in 2005, running 11-minute episodes. Over eleven seasons, to 2022, it adds themed specials, including three Robot Chicken: Star Wars specials, with George Lucas voicing himself in the first, along with DC Comics specials. The cast of voices changes every episode, with Green and the writers playing many of the parts and celebrities dropping in, and the closing theme is an a cappella cover of "The Gonk".
How Robot Chicken ends
Robot Chicken has not formally ended, but it has stopped making full seasons; the eleventh season wraps up in April 2022. Seth Green has said the show is moving to occasional specials instead. The Robot Chicken Self-Discovery Special marked its 20th anniversary in 2025, and The Robot Chicken Adult Swim Special, about Adult Swim characters on a disaster-struck cruise for the block's 25th anniversary, aired in August 2026.

The Boondocks recap
Ten-year-old Huey Freeman, a serious, radical thinker, and his eight-year-old brother Riley, who idolises gangster rap, move from Chicago's South Side with their grandfather Robert to the quiet, mostly white suburb of Woodcrest. The show is based on Aaron McGruder's comic strip and uses the culture clash for satire about race, politics, the media and Black American culture. Neighbours include Tom DuBois, a Black lawyer married to a white woman, Sarah, and their daughter Jazmine, who idolises Huey; Uncle Ruckus, a Black man who hates Black people; and Ed Wuncler III, a rich, violent grandson of the town's developer, with his partner Gin Rummy. Notable episodes imagine Martin Luther King Jr. waking from a coma in 2000 and send up R. Kelly and Tyler Perry. The show runs four seasons, from 2005 to 2014. McGruder is not involved in the fourth season, which is made without him.
How The Boondocks ends
The final episode is "The New Black" (2014), in which Riley gets in trouble at school for using slurs and the Freemans team up with Reverend Rollo Goodlove. It is an ordinary episode, not a planned finale. A reboot was ordered by HBO Max in 2019, but after John Witherspoon, the voice of Granddad, died that year, it was reported cancelled in 2022 and has not been made.

Moral Orel recap
Orel Puppington is a cheerful, devout twelve-year-old in Moralton, a town that thinks of itself as the centre of Protestant America. In the first season, every episode follows a formula: Orel hears a sermon from Reverend Putty, takes it too literally, and does something terrible, and his father Clay, a cold, drunk, angry man, punishes him and gives a twisted lesson. His mother Bloberta is distant and his little brother Shapey is a brute. In season 2, the focus moves to the town's miserable adults, and the two-part "Nature" ends with a drunk Clay shooting Orel on a hunting trip. Season 3, from 2008, is a connected, dark drama about loneliness and abuse among Moralton's adults, including Clay and Bloberta's hatred of each other and Coach Stopframe's secret relationship with Clay. The stop-motion show was created by Dino Stamatopoulos and runs from 2005 to 2008. A 2012 special, Beforel Orel, is a prequel about Orel as a small child.
How Moral Orel ends
The finale, "Honor" (2008), has Orel learn his leg will never fully heal. Clay admits his love for Coach Stopframe in front of his family, and Stopframe, who has bonded with Orel, rejects Clay because of how he treats his son. A final flash-forward shows an adult Orel with a happy family of his own, suggesting he breaks the cycle his father started.

Metalocalypse recap
Dethklok is the biggest band in the world, a melodic death metal group so popular that it becomes one of the world's largest economies, and its five members are rich, stupid and helpless at ordinary life. Nathan Explosion is the deep-voiced singer; Skwisgaar Skwigelf, a Swedish guitarist, and Toki Wartooth, a Norwegian guitarist, are rivals; Pickles is the Wisconsin-born drummer; and William Murderface is the hated bass player. Their manager, Charles Foster Offdensen, a calm lawyer, keeps the empire running, and their concerts often kill fans. Meanwhile a secret council called the Tribunal, led by the sinister Mr. Salacia, watches the band and fears a prophecy that Dethklok will bring the Metalocalypse. Over four seasons, from 2006 to 2012, the show shifts from short gags to longer episodes with more story, about Toki and Murderface's insecurities, Offdensen's past, and the band facing the prophecy. Creator Brendon Small also writes and records the music.
How Metalocalypse ends
Season 4 ends in 2012 on a cliffhanger: Salacia attacks the band's concert, Toki is kidnapped, and Offdensen reveals Salacia is a "half-man". The 2013 rock opera special The Doomstar Requiem rescues Toki. The 2023 film Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar concludes the story: Salacia possesses Murderface and tries to complete his ritual, but the band, joined by its fans, defeats him, and Nathan realises the fans are the true Army of the Doomstar.

Frisky Dingo recap
Killface is a tall, white, hairless supervillain who plans to destroy the Earth with a giant machine, the Annihilatrix, but keeps getting distracted by marketing, publicity and his teenage son Simon. His arch-enemy is Xander Crews, a rich, shallow, and stupid billionaire who fights crime as the superhero Awesome X with his armoured private army, the Xtacles. Neither is good at his job, and both are more worried about image than results. Other characters include Grace Ryan, a reporter and Xander's ex-girlfriend, who later becomes the villain Antagone, and Sinn, who starts as Killface's assistant and turns against him. Season 1, from 2006 to 2007, follows Killface's attempt to promote and launch the Annihilatrix. In season 2, the machine moves Earth three feet from the Sun, ending global warming, so Killface runs for President and Xander runs against him, until both learn they cannot legally hold the office. The show comes from the creators of Sealab 2021, who later made Archer.
How Frisky Dingo ends
Frisky Dingo ends after two seasons in March 2008, with the creators and Adult Swim agreeing not to make a third. In the final episode, Killface returns to his plan to destroy the world, and his alien relatives arrive to ask why Earth still exists and why he is naked; he answers, "Funny story." A spin-off about Xander's army, The Xtacles, aired only its first two episodes in 2008.

Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! recap
Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim host a sketch show that imitates cheap public-access television, late-night infomercials, local news and corporate training videos, all made deliberately awkward and ugly. Each episode is a loose collection of short pieces held together by a thin story about Tim and Eric themselves. Sketches are full of uncomfortable silences, bad editing, video effects and non-actors. Recurring segments include Dr. Steve Brule, a confused health reporter played by John C. Reilly, who gets his own spin-off, Check It Out!; Cinco, a company whose gadgets are useless or dangerous; Casey and his brother; the singer David Liebe Hart; and Richard Dunn. Celebrities appear in odd cameos. The show follows the duo's earlier Tom Goes to the Mayor and runs five seasons, from 2007 to 2010, with 11-minute episodes. It influenced a lot of later internet and alternative comedy.
How Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! ends
The series finale, "Man Milk" (2010), is a half-hour episode in which Tim and Eric start lactating and bottle the milk as holiday gifts, alongside a last round of sketches. A Chrimbus Special followed in December 2010, and a ten-year anniversary special aired in 2017. The pair continued in Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (2012) and the anthology Tim and Eric's Bedtime Stories.
