Shin Godzilla recap

A steam explosion in Tokyo Bay floods a tunnel, and while officials argue about procedure, a giant creature crawls up a river into the city, changes into a standing form, and goes back to sea. Rando Yaguchi, deputy chief cabinet secretary, assembles a task force of outcasts and experts. They learn the creature runs on nuclear fission and evolves rapidly, and that a vanished professor, Goro Maki, predicted it and left coded notes. His research names it Godzilla. Kayoco Anne Patterson, an American envoy, works with Yaguchi. Godzilla returns larger and the army cannot hurt it. American bombers wound it, and it answers with beams from its mouth and back that destroy central Tokyo and kill the prime minister and most of the cabinet. Godzilla goes dormant, and the United Nations plans a nuclear strike.

Shin Godzilla ending explained

Yaguchi's team freezes Godzilla in place by pumping a blood coagulant into its mouth, and it stands frozen in Tokyo. They distract it with drones, bring it down with trains packed with explosives and pump the coagulant in. The nuclear strike is called off, but only while Godzilla stays frozen. The final shot shows its tail, with humanoid shapes emerging from it, frozen in place.
