Godzilla 2000: Millennium recap

In this version, Godzilla has been a recurring disaster in Japan for years. Yuji Shinoda runs the Godzilla Prediction Network with his daughter Io and the photographer Yuki Ichinose, tracking Godzilla. Meanwhile the government agency CCI, led by Mitsuo Katagiri, raises a meteor-like rock from the sea floor that turns out to be a UFO, 60 million years old. It wakes, flies to Tokyo and battles Godzilla, and lands on Tokyo Opera City Tower to hack Japan's computers for data on Godzilla. Shinoda learns that Godzilla heals with a substance he calls Regenerator G1, which the aliens want for themselves so they can rebuild bodies on Earth. The UFO drains Tokyo's data and broadcasts its plan for a thousand-year kingdom, and CCI's attempt to blow it up nearly kills Shinoda.
