Brink! recap

Andy "Brink" Brinker skates in Southern California with the Soul-Skaters, a group of friends who skate for fun and look down on Team X-Bladz, a sponsored crew run by the arrogant Val. When an X-Bladz rider, Boomer, is hurt in a race, Brink learns his own family is in trouble: his father Ralph has been out on disability and money is tight. Brink secretly joins X-Bladz for $200 a week, against his father's wishes, and juggles it with a dog-grooming job at Pup-N-Suds. His friends Peter, Jordy and Gabriella catch him in X-Bladz gear and cut him off. Then Val scatters gravel on a downhill course, Gabriella crashes, and Brink sees what kind of team he has joined. He confesses to his father, who tells him skating is worth more for the fun of it than for the money.

Brink! ending explained

Brink quits X-Bladz, throws a milkshake in Val's face, and wins his friends back by buying them new skates with an advance from Pup-N-Suds, entering them as Team Pup 'N Suds. In the championship downhill, Val pulls Brink to the ground on camera to get ahead, but Brink takes a shortcut and wins. The X-Bladz manager drops Val and offers Brink the captaincy; Brink turns it down and stays with the Soul-Skaters. There was no sequel.
