The Replacements

Series, 2006, Disney Channel, Set in Pleasantville

The Replacements is #15 of 17 in release order and #15 of 17 in chronological order in the Disney Channel Cartoons.

The story

Two orphans, Riley and little brother Todd, answer an ad for Fleemco Replacement People and order new parents, a spy mother and daredevil father. As Riley and Todd go on adventures (or misadventures as it were), they team up with Conrad Fleem to replace any adult in their lives that they don't like, but they don't get to choose the replacements and sometimes their good intentions don't work out as they planned.

The Replacements recap

Orphans Todd and Riley order a phone from Fleemco, a mysterious company, which lets them replace any person in their lives with someone new. They use it to get adoptive parents: Agent K, a strict British spy, and Dick Daring, a reckless stuntman, along with C.A.R., the family's talking spy car who will not let Dick drive. Todd, 11, is lazy and uses the phone to get his way, replacing teachers, coaches and friends; Riley, 13, is responsible and uses it to help people or to swap adults who will not take her seriously. Each episode, the replacement goes wrong and the kids learn to appreciate the original. In the second season Riley dates Johnny Hitswell, and the mystery around Conrad Fleem, the unseen head of Fleemco, grows.

The Replacements ending explained

In the series finale, "Irreplaceable" (2009), Todd and Riley come home to find K and Dick swapped for "perfect" replacement parents and storm Fleemco headquarters. They discover the villain Doctor Scorpius has kidnapped Dick, K and Conrad and seized the company, defeat him, and learn Conrad Fleem is their uncle. The kids end up helping to run the family business. There has been no revival.
