The story
It's about Kuzco, a self-centered and spoiled teen who must survive the trials of Incan public school and pass all of his classes so that he can officially become Emperor. His friend Malina keeps his attitude in check, while the evil Yzma (cleverly disguised as Principal Amzy) and her dim-witted sidekick Kronk are out to make sure Kuzco fails.
The Emperor's New School recap
After The Emperor's New Groove, Kuzco learns he cannot become emperor until he graduates from Kuzco Academy, the village school. Yzma, disguised as Principal Amzy, tries to make him fail so she can take the throne, and her potions often turn Kuzco into animals. Kronk is now a student, still loyal to Yzma but kind to everyone. Kuzco lives with the peasant Pacha and his family, struggles with homework from his teacher Mr. Moleguaco and keeps trying to win Malina, a cheerleader who is president of every club and has no patience for his ego. Over two seasons, from 2006 to 2008, Kuzco slowly learns to work hard and care about other people, shares a first kiss with Malina, and fights off a challenge to his claim to the throne.
The Emperor's New School ending explained
In the finale, "Graduation Groove" (2008), Kuzco has grown to like his simpler life and is not sure he wants to be emperor, and Yzma tries one last scheme to stop him. He graduates and becomes emperor, invites Pacha's family to live in the palace, makes Kronk his advisor with Yzma working as his assistant, and starts dating Malina. There has been no revival.
