Wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife and sentenced to death, Richard Kimble escapes from the law in an attempt to find the real killer and clear his name.
The Fugitive recap
Chicago surgeon Richard Kimble is convicted of murdering his wife Helen, although he insists a one-armed man did it. On the way to prison, a crash between the bus and a train lets him escape. Deputy US Marshal Samuel Gerard hunts him, and when Kimble says he did not kill his wife, Gerard says he does not care. Kimble jumps from a dam to escape, sneaks back into Chicago, and uses a hospital's prosthetics records to find the one-armed man, Fredrick Sykes, an ex-cop. Sykes works security for a drug company, and Kimble works out that his friend Dr. Charles Nichols covered up the deadly side effects of a new drug, Provasic, and sent Sykes to kill him.
The Fugitive ending explained
Kimble fights Sykes on a train and handcuffs him to a pole, then goes to a hotel conference to expose Nichols in front of his colleagues. Gerard, now convinced Kimble is innocent, follows them across the roof and into the laundry room, and Kimble knocks out Nichols to save Gerard. Kimble surrenders, and Gerard takes off his handcuffs in the car.
