Terminator 2: Judgment Day recap

In 1995, two Terminators are sent back from the future: a T-1000, made of liquid metal, sent by the machines to kill the teenage John Connor, future leader of the resistance, and an older T-800, reprogrammed by the adult John to protect him. John's mother Sarah Connor is locked in a mental hospital for her warnings about Judgment Day. The T-800 rescues John from the T-1000, and John orders it not to kill anyone. Together they break Sarah out. She learns that Cyberdyne Systems engineer Miles Dyson is about to create Skynet using parts of the first Terminator, and goes to kill him, but stops. Dyson, shown the future, helps them destroy his research.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day ending explained

Dyson dies blowing up Cyberdyne's lab. The T-1000 chases the Connors to a steel mill, where the T-800 fires a grenade into it and it falls into molten steel. The T-800, carrying the last chip of future technology, has Sarah lower it into the steel too. Sarah drives into the night saying the future is not set. Terminator 3 follows.
