The story

When Russian neo-nationalists hijack Air Force One, the world's most secure and extraordinary aircraft, the President is faced with a nearly impossible decision to give in to terrorist demands or sacrifice not only the country's dignity, but the lives of his wife and daughter.

Air Force One recap

US President James Marshall gives a speech in Moscow promising never to negotiate with terrorists. On the flight home, Kazakh nationalists led by Ivan Korshunov hijack Air Force One with help from a Secret Service agent, Gibbs. Marshall is put in an escape pod and believed safe, but he stays aboard and hides in the hold, while the hijackers hold his wife Grace and daughter Alice and demand the release of General Radek, a jailed Kazakh dictator. Marshall fights the hijackers one at a time, gets the other hostages parachuted out and tries to land the plane himself. Vice President Bennett holds firm in Washington, and Radek is released.

Air Force One ending explained

Marshall kills Korshunov, breaking his neck with a parachute cord, and calls off Radek's release; Radek is shot as he escapes. Damaged by fighter jets, Air Force One cannot land, so a rescue plane sends a zip line. Marshall sends his family across, and Gibbs reveals himself as the traitor. Marshall is pulled to safety at the last moment, and Gibbs goes down with the plane into the sea. The rescue plane becomes Air Force One.
