Casper recap

Carrigan Crittenden inherits Whipstaff Manor in Maine and learns it hides a treasure, but the house is haunted. She hires Dr. James Harvey, a therapist who counsels ghosts and is searching for the ghost of his late wife. He moves in with his daughter Kat, who has trouble making friends. The house belongs to Casper, a friendly young ghost, and his mean uncles, the Ghostly Trio. Casper falls for Kat and helps her, while the Trio torments her father. Kat's classmates choose the house for their Halloween party. Casper remembers how he died as a boy, and he and Kat find the Lazarus, a machine his father built to bring him back to life. Carrigan steals the treasure, which turns out to be Casper's old baseball, and dies in a crash, returning as a ghost. Harvey dies in an accident and returns as a ghost too.

Casper ending explained

Casper gives up his one chance to live again so that Harvey can be brought back for Kat, and Carrigan is tricked into crossing over. Harvey's late wife appears as an angel and makes Casper human until ten o'clock, and he dances with Kat at the party. When the clock strikes, he becomes a ghost again in front of Kat, and the Ghostly Trio arrive and scare the party guests away.
