The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon recap

In season 1, Daryl washes up on the coast of France with no idea how he got there. He is taken in by nuns, including Isabelle, who believe a boy in their care, Laurent, is a messiah who will save humanity. Daryl agrees to escort Laurent to a safe haven in the north, the Nest, hunted by Codron of the Union of Hope, an authoritarian group led by Genet, which experiments on people to create faster, smarter walkers. The season ends with Daryl choosing to stay with Laurent as Carol, back in America, searches for him. In season 2, titled The Book of Carol, Carol flies to France with a pilot, Ash, while Genet takes over the Nest and kidnaps Laurent. Isabelle dies after making Daryl promise to look after Laurent, and Daryl and Carol escape France, heading toward England. In season 3, Daryl and Carol leave Britain by sea for America with a man called Julian, but a storm wrecks them on the coast of Spain. They join Solaz del Mar, a community that hands over young women each year to a powerful group called El Alcazar, and Daryl brings down the corrupt powers behind it while Carol grows close to a man named Antonio.
