Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie recap

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie (2022) sends Casey Jones back from a 2044 overrun by the alien Krang to stop the invasion before it starts. Andy Suriano and Ant Ward direct this Netflix film, which continues the 2018 series months after the Shredder's defeat. In the future, Leonardo and Michelangelo die getting their student Casey (Haley Joel Osment) through time. In the present, Leonardo (Ben Schwartz) has grown cocky, which grates on Raphael (Omar Miller), while Donatello (Josh Brener) and Michelangelo (Brandon Mychal Smith) tag along. The Foot Clan steals a mystic key that opens the Krang's prison dimension, and Splinter (Eric Bauza) explains that ancient warriors used it to lock them away. When the portal opens, Krang One (Jim Pirri) drains the brothers' powers; Leonardo grabs the key and Raphael is captured covering his escape. The Krang possess Raphael and the Foot, and April O'Neil (Kat Graham) and Splinter fight to hide the key. The Krang then open the portal atop the Metro Tower and bring the Technodrome down on New York.
