The Adventures of Tintin recap
The Adventures of Tintin (2011) follows a young Belgian reporter who buys a model ship at a market and is drawn into a race for a sunken pirate treasure. Steven Spielberg directs this motion-capture animated film, produced with Peter Jackson and drawn from three of Hergé's comic albums. Tintin (Jamie Bell) and his dog Snowy buy a model of the Unicorn, which Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine (Daniel Craig) is desperate to get. A scroll hidden in its mast is one of three that together point to the wreck of the real Unicorn, sunk in the 17th century by Sir Francis Haddock to keep its cargo from the pirate Red Rackham. Kidnapped aboard the freighter Karaboudjan, Tintin meets its drunken captain, Archibald Haddock (Andy Serkis), Sir Francis's descendant, whose crew has mutinied for Sakharine. The two escape by lifeboat and seaplane, crash in the Sahara and reach the port of Bagghar. Detectives Thomson and Thompson (Nick Frost and Simon Pegg) chase a pickpocket. Tintin is Spielberg's first animated feature, released the same month as War Horse.
The Adventures of Tintin ending explained
The Adventures of Tintin ends with Tintin and Haddock planning a voyage to find the wreck. In Bagghar, Sakharine steals the last scroll during a concert by the opera singer Bianca Castafiore, and the chase moves back to Europe, where Haddock fights Sakharine, Red Rackham's descendant, with dockside cranes, and the detectives arrest him. The scrolls lead to Marlinspike Hall, the Haddock family home, where a hidden globe holds some of the treasure and a clue to the wreck. A sequel to be directed by Jackson was announced but has not been made.
