Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins recap

A live-action TV film about how the gang first met. Scooby is a stray puppy who can talk, adopted by Shaggy Rogers, a lonely teenager at Coolsville High. Shaggy, Fred, Daphne and Velma, four students who barely know each other, all end up in detention together when ghosts attack the school and they are blamed for the pranks. When the school is shut down and they are suspended by Vice Principal Grimes, they investigate to clear their names. They learn the school stands on the site of an old academy destroyed in a flood while its students were burying a time capsule. A cloaked figure called the Dark Specter captures Scooby and Grimes and forces the gang to dig up the capsule. Nick Palatas plays Shaggy, Robbie Amell plays Fred, Kate Melton plays Daphne and Hayley Kiyoko plays Velma, with Frank Welker voicing Scooby. It premiered on Cartoon Network in 2009.

Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins ending explained

The gang banishes the ghosts with a spell book, and Scooby takes down the Dark Specter, who is unmasked as Principal Deedle. The capsule held a valuable misprinted stamp, and he summoned the ghosts to empty the school and claim it. Deedle is arrested, Grimes becomes principal and apologises, and the four friends decide to keep solving mysteries together, heading off to a haunted museum. The sequel, Curse of the Lake Monster, followed in 2010.
