The story
Be careful what you wish for. With their after school junk business, best friends Sonny and Sam hope to find treasure in other people’s trash. But when cleaning out the old Stine house, they open a locked book that frees a supernatural nightmare – Slappy! Now, with the help of Sonny’s sister Sarah, they’re in a race against time to get the sinister dummy and all the creatures he’s brought to life back into the pages before he unleashes total pandemonium!
Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween recap
In Wardenclyffe, New York, Sonny Quinn and his friend Sam find an unpublished Goosebumps manuscript in R.L. Stine's abandoned old house, and reading from it brings Slappy the Dummy to life. Slappy tries to join the family, attacking Sonny's sister Sarah's cheating boyfriend and wrecking Sonny's science project, a model of Nikola Tesla's Wardenclyffe Tower. When they try to get rid of him, he escapes. On Halloween, Slappy brings a store's decorations to life and uses the real Wardenclyffe Tower to animate the whole town's Halloween decor, then kidnaps Sonny and Sarah's mother.
Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween ending explained
Helped by their neighbor Mr. Chu, Sarah, Sonny and Sam reach the tower, where Slappy has turned their mother into a dummy. Sarah uses the manuscript with the tower's power to trap Slappy and undo his work. Stine arrives too late, having got their voicemail, and helps Sarah with her college essay. Then Slappy, who survived, traps Stine inside a Goosebumps story of his own.
