Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always recap
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always (2023) brings the original Rangers back 30 years on, when a robotic Rita Repulsa returns and kills Trini Kwan. Charlie Haskell directs the 55-minute special, released on Netflix. A year after the attack, Zack Taylor (Walter Emanuel Jones), now guardian of Trini's daughter Minh (Charlie Kersh), and Billy Cranston (David Yost), who built a new Command Center under his company, face Robo-Rita, the evil purged from Rita that possessed Billy's robot Alpha 8. She captures Jason, Tommy and Kimberly along with other Rangers and builds a time portal to kill her past enemies before Zordon ever recruits them. Rocky DeSantos (Steve Cardenas) and Kat Hillard (Catherine Sutherland) return with proxy Power Coins, and Minh, who blames Billy for her mother's death, takes up Trini's morpher. Billy has been trying to bring back Zordon. The special serves as a sequel to the Turbo movie and the 1990s seasons.
