California Dreams recap

California Dreams (1992) follows a group of California teenagers who form a band and try to make it while getting through high school. Brett Dewey and Ronald B. Solomon created it, and Peter Engel produced it for NBC's TNBC block. The band starts with siblings Matt Garrison (Brent Gore) and Jenny Garrison (Heidi Noelle Lenhart), their friend Tiffani Smith (Kelly Packard) and Tony Wicks (William James Jones), with Sly Winkle (Michael Cade) as their manager; the Garrison parents, Richard and Melody, and younger brother Dennis round out the first season. In season 2 Jenny leaves after three episodes to study at a music conservatory in Italy, and Sam Woo (Jennie Kwan) replaces her as singer and keyboard player, while the motorcycle-riding loner Jake Sommers (Jay Anthony Franke) joins on guitar. After season 2 the Garrisons move away and Matt goes with them; Lorena Costa (Diana Uribe) takes Sam into her home, and Sly's cousin from New York City, Mark Winkle (Aaron Jackson), joins. That lineup carries the band through graduation. Episodes mix gigs and songs with dating, school and family trouble. The series ran five seasons and 78 episodes from September 12, 1992, to December 14, 1996.

California Dreams ending explained
