Mobile Suit Gundam SEED recap
This entry covers Gundam SEED (2002) and SEED Destiny (2004). In Cosmic Era 71, war rages between naturals and Coordinators, genetically enhanced humans led by the space colonies of PLANT and their army ZAFT. Kira Yamato, a Coordinator student on a neutral colony, gets into the Earth Alliance's Strike Gundam during a ZAFT raid and has to fight to protect his friends aboard the warship Archangel. The raid was led by his childhood friend Athrun Zala. Kira meets Lacus Clyne, a PLANT singer, and Cagalli Yula Athha, princess of Orb. Kira kills Athrun's comrade Nicol, Athrun kills Kira's friend Tolle, and their duel nearly kills both. Kira returns in the Freedom Gundam. The Archangel breaks away, and the war escalates to nuclear weapons and PLANT's GENESIS laser, while ZAFT commander Rau Le Creuset works to destroy humanity. In SEED Destiny, two years later, a new war begins, and Shinn Asuka, a young ZAFT pilot whose family died in Orb, fights aboard the Minerva. Athrun rejoins ZAFT, and Chairman Gilbert Durandal pushes his Destiny Plan to decide every person's role by their genes.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ending explained
In SEED, Kira kills Le Creuset, Flay dies, and an armistice ends the first war. In SEED Destiny, Kira and Athrun defeat Shinn and the forces of Durandal's Destiny Plan; Durandal is shot by his ally Rey Za Burrel, and Lacus is set to lead. The story continues in the film SEED Freedom.
