Sonic the Hedgehog recap

Sonic grows up on a distant world under the care of Longclaw, an owl, until people hunting his speed force her to send him away through a ring portal. He lands in Green Hills, Montana, and spends ten years hiding, watching the town and its sheriff, Tom Wachowski, from a distance. Lonely, he runs so hard during a baseball game alone that he sets off a power surge that knocks out the Pacific Northwest. The government sends Dr. Ivo Robotnik, a robotics genius, to investigate. Tom finds Sonic in his shed, and a tranquilizer dart sends Sonic's bag of rings through a portal to San Francisco. Tom drives Sonic there to get them back while Robotnik chases them with drones, and the two become friends. Tom's wife Maddie helps patch Sonic up after a drone attack.

How Sonic the Hedgehog ends

Robotnik catches up in San Francisco and then in Green Hills, powered by one of Sonic's quills. The townspeople and the Wachowskis stand by Sonic, who unlocks his full speed and sends Robotnik through a ring to a mushroom-covered planet. The government erases the incident, and Sonic moves into the Wachowskis' attic as part of the family.

Post-credits scenes

Yes. In a mid-credits scene, Robotnik, bald and stranded on the mushroom planet, still has Sonic's quill and vows to get home. In a post-credits scene, Tails comes through a ring portal on a hill in Green Hills looking for Sonic, setting up the sequel.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 recap

Eight months later, Sonic tries to be a hero in Seattle and causes more damage than he prevents. Tom and Maddie leave for Maddie's sister Rachel's wedding in Hawaii, and Robotnik, back from the mushroom planet, attacks the house with his new ally Knuckles, an echidna warrior hunting the Master Emerald. Tails, a fox who has idolised Sonic, saves him. Sonic and Tails follow clues left by Longclaw to a compass in a Siberian temple, but Knuckles and Robotnik take it. In Hawaii, Rachel's fiance Randall and the guests turn out to be G.U.N. agents hunting Sonic, and Rachel sides with her family. Robotnik and Knuckles reach an underwater temple and take the Emerald, and Robotnik betrays Knuckles, leaving him to die as the temple floods.

How Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ends

Robotnik uses the Master Emerald to build a giant robot in Green Hills. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles fight it together and get the Emerald back, and Sonic accidentally takes the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds and becomes Super Sonic. He destroys the robot and Robotnik vanishes in the wreckage. Knuckles repairs the Emerald, and the three agree to guard it together from the Wachowskis' house.

Post-credits scenes

Yes. In a mid-credits scene, G.U.N. Commander Walters is told about Project Shadow at a secret facility, and Shadow the Hedgehog is shown, setting up the third film.

No. 03 · 2024 · Series

Knuckles recap

Knuckles, restless in the Wachowskis' house in Green Hills, takes on the deputy Wade Whipple as his student in the ways of the echidna warrior. Wade, kicked off his team, is heading to a bowling tournament in Reno, and his estranged father Pete is competing too. Two rogue G.U.N. agents, Willoughby and Mason, try to capture Knuckles to sell him to a mysterious Buyer. Knuckles and Wade escape them at a ski lodge and hide at Wade's childhood home in Idaho with his mother Wendy and his sister Wanda, an FBI agent, where a tense Shabbat dinner turns into a family fight against bounty hunters. Kidnapped by the bounty hunter Jack Sinclair, Wade dreams of the late Pachacamac, who teaches him that a warrior's strength is heart. In Reno, Pete sells out his own family to keep Wade out of the final.

How Knuckles ends

Knuckles avoids the agents' trap and strands them between dimensions with ring portals, and Wade frees his family and bowls a perfect game to beat his father. The Buyer, a former associate of Robotnik in a mech suit, drains Knuckles' power, but Wade and his family hold him off until Knuckles recovers and they beat him together. Knuckles and Wade head home to Green Hills.

No. 04 · 2024 · Film

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 recap

In 1974, the military captures Shadow, an alien hedgehog, and Professor Gerald Robotnik experiments on him at a G.U.N. base, where Shadow bonds with Gerald's granddaughter Maria. Maria dies in a raid, and Shadow is frozen. Fifty years later, a hacker frees him from a prison off Japan. G.U.N. recruits Sonic, Tails and Knuckles to stop him in Tokyo, and Shadow beats all three. Commander Walters is killed by drones after handing Sonic a keycard. The team teams up with Ivo Robotnik and Agent Stone, and Ivo meets his grandfather Gerald, who freed Shadow and joins with Ivo. The keycard is one of two that fire the Eclipse Cannon, an orbital weapon. Tom and Maddie help steal the second key from G.U.N. in London, and Shadow wounds Tom. Furious, Sonic leaves his friends, becomes Super Sonic and fights Shadow, but stops and tells him that love for the people you lose matters more than revenge.

How Sonic the Hedgehog 3 ends

Gerald reveals he plans to fire the cannon at Earth itself for Maria, and Tails, Knuckles and Ivo knock him into the reactor. Sonic and Shadow block the beam as it is steered away, cutting a piece off the Moon. As the station melts down, Ivo stays behind to move it clear and Shadow joins him; both appear to die. Tom recovers and the team reunites in Green Hills.

Post-credits scenes

Yes. In a mid-credits scene, Sonic races Tails and Knuckles, ends up outside New York and is ambushed by an army of Metal Sonics until Amy Rose rescues him. In a post-credits scene, Shadow is shown to have survived. Both set up Sonic the Hedgehog 4, due March 19, 2027.
