A Quiet Place (2018) follows the Abbotts, a family living in silence on a farm after blind creatures that hunt by sound have wiped out most of humanity. John Krasinski directs and plays the father, Lee Abbott, with Emily Blunt as his wife Evelyn. Their children are Regan (Millicent Simmonds), who is deaf, Marcus (Noah Jupe) and Beau (Cade Woodward). The family walks on sand paths and speaks in sign language. On day 89, Beau switches on a noisy toy rocket on the walk home and is killed, and Regan blames herself, believing her father does too. Over a year later Evelyn is close to giving birth, Lee keeps building hearing aids for Regan that never work, and he takes Marcus to the river to teach him how to survive. While they are gone, Evelyn steps on a nail on the basement stairs and goes into labour, with a creature in the house. It is the first film, followed by Part II.
How A Quiet Place ends
A Quiet Place ends with Lee giving his life to save Regan and Marcus, screaming to draw a creature away after signing to Regan that he has always loved her. Back at the house, Regan realises the whine from her cochlear implant hurts the creatures; she holds it to a microphone, the creature exposes its head, and Evelyn shoots it. As more approach, Evelyn cocks the shotgun.

A Quiet Place Part II (2020) picks up as the surviving Abbotts leave their ruined farm with a newborn, after a prologue showing the day the creatures arrived. John Krasinski writes and directs, and the film opened in May 2021 after pandemic delays. Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) leads her children Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe) off the farm in search of other survivors, and Marcus is caught in a bear trap. They find shelter in a steel foundry with Emmett (Cillian Murphy), a family friend who has lost his own family and wants no company. Regan hears "Beyond the Sea" playing on a loop over the radio and believes survivors are broadcasting it from an island, where she could play her implant's feedback over the airwaves. She sets out alone, and Emmett follows. Djimon Hounsou plays the island colony's leader. It follows A Quiet Place directly.
How A Quiet Place Part II ends
A Quiet Place Part II ends on two fronts. On the island, a creature arrives on a drifting boat and kills the colony's leader; Regan broadcasts her implant's feedback from the radio station and kills it. At the foundry, Marcus picks up the broadcast and uses it to stun a creature before shooting it. Regan leaves the signal running for others. A Quiet Place Part III is set for July 2027.

A Quiet Place: Day One (2024) follows Sam, a terminally ill former poet on a hospice trip to Manhattan, on the day blind creatures attack New York. Michael Sarnoski writes and directs from a story he devised with John Krasinski. Samira (Lupita Nyong'o), who has terminal cancer, goes to a marionette show with her nurse Reuben (Alex Wolff) and her cat Frodo when objects fall from the sky. She wakes in the theatre among survivors, including Henri (Djimon Hounsou), as military helicopters order silence and jets destroy the bridges out of the city. Reuben is killed, and Sam heads uptown to Harlem for a last slice of pizza from the place her father took her. The military begins evacuating people by boat, since the creatures cannot swim. Eric (Joseph Quinn), an English law student, follows Frodo to her and stays with her through flooded subways and a ruined church. It is a prequel to the first film, set on day one.
