Doctor Who: Season 1 (2024) recap

After the 60th-anniversary specials, the Fourteenth Doctor splits into two, and the Fifteenth Doctor, who has let go of his old wounds, travels with Ruby Sunday, a young woman who was abandoned as a baby at a church on Christmas Eve. They visit a baby farm in space, 1960s London where the god-like Maestro steals music, a minefield where the Doctor cannot move, and the Regency era. Strange things follow Ruby, including snow falling around her, a mysterious neighbour called Mrs Flood, and a woman named Susan Triad whose name keeps appearing. UNIT tries to find Ruby's mother.

Doctor Who: Season 1 (2024) ending explained

Susan Triad is a disguise for Sutekh, the god of death, who has been hiding on the TARDIS since the Doctor last fought him and now wipes out all life in the universe. The Doctor leashes Sutekh to the TARDIS and drags him through the time vortex to his end, restoring everyone. Ruby's mother is Louise Miller, an ordinary woman who left her as a teenager, and they meet. Ruby stays with her families, and the Doctor travels on alone, while Mrs Flood hints that something worse is coming.
