Lizzie McGuire has graduated from middle school and takes a trip to Rome, Italy with her class. And what was supposed to be only a normal trip, becomes a teenager's dream come true.
The Lizzie McGuire Movie recap
At their junior high graduation Lizzie trips and pulls down the stage curtain, and Matt catches it on video. Lizzie and Gordo then head to Rome on a class trip chaperoned by the strict Miss Ungermeyer, while Miranda is away in Mexico, and Lizzie is stuck rooming with Kate. At the Trevi Fountain, the Italian pop star Paolo Valisari spots that Lizzie looks exactly like his former duet partner, Isabella. He talks her into standing in for Isabella at the International Music Video Awards, saying Isabella only lip-syncs anyway. Lizzie skips the tour to prepare, falls for Paolo, and wins Kate over as an ally, while Gordo covers for her and is sent home. Back in California, Matt finds photos of Lizzie online and the McGuires fly to Rome.
The Lizzie McGuire Movie ending explained
At the airport Gordo meets the real Isabella, and they learn Paolo plans to switch on Lizzie's microphone and humiliate both girls on stage. Instead, during the show they switch on Paolo's, revealing that he is the one who cannot sing. Isabella brings Lizzie out and they sing "What Dreams Are Made Of," which Lizzie finishes alone. Her parents ground her for the summer but tell her they are proud, and Lizzie and Gordo share a kiss on the hotel roof.
